When you visit Framwellgate Dental Surgery for the first time you will be greeted by our receptionists Claire, Christina and Rachel.
Please tell them your name and appointment time and they will ensure the Dentist knows you have arrived.
They will also ask you to fill in or to check your previous medical history form and to sign your NHS treatment consent form.
We always aim to see you as quickly as possible and if there is a delay we will try to keep you informed.
We try to make our services easily accessible for all our visitors. We have a toilet with disabled access and baby changing facilities in the downstairs hall. If you have difficulty with the step at our main front door ( at the Victoria bridge) please come in via our old entrance where there is a very small step. Our staff will be happy to assist you with this if you would like. We also have 4 downstairs surgeries which are accessible for people who have mobility difficulties.
We play gentle music in reception and the surgeries which we hope will add to the gentle atmosphere we try to keep in the practice. If our music is too loud or offends you in any way please let us know.
In the Surgery the Dentist will chat to you about your concerns and will check your oral health. Before any treatment is done the Dentist will explain all the options, give you an estimate of how much your treatment will cost and explain how many visits will be required. If you find that you would like to change the dentist you see or would like a second opinion please ask and this can be done simply and discreetly.
At Framwellgate dental surgery we take safety and security very seriously and as such we have a Zero tolerance approach to violence, aggression and discrimination. If someone is found to be aggressive, threatening, rude or discriminative to our staff verbally or physically they will be asked to leave the premises and the police may be called. By doing this we hope to keep the atmosphere at our practice friendly, calm and safe for all those who use our service.
