Framwellgate Dental Surgery is committed to being an active part of the local community.
We want to hear peoples opinions and make our service fit for the community we serve.
As part of this we try to be involved with local initiatives.
Here are some of the things we have been part of lately:
Nursery Children visit practice!
Dental care is essential in children from a very young age. With 40 per cent of all children under five suffering from the pain of tooth decay, nurseries have a key role in caring for children's teeth and teaching children good dental hygiene habits.
On Wednesday 5th March the Little Bumbles went to Framwellgate Moor Dental Surgery where Marie Louise Ray (Dental Manager) showed the children all the things in a dental surgery. They experienced the chair, the air blower, the masks, gloves and even made fillings for a big set of teeth. On leaving the surgery they were all given a bag filled with a tooth brush, tooth paste, fruit bag, leaflets etc. We are hoping to continue this partnership.

Great North Run 2013!
Panos, one of our principal dentists, took part in the Great North Run again this year!
He was running on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK and aimed to complete the race in under 1 hour 50 mins. He managed it in 1 hour 35 mins.
Thanks for your support!
Oral health Strategy 2012/13
The Durham and Darlington NHS trust recently commissioned dental practices within the county to promote improved access to local dentists and improve oral health in children under 8. We have been involved in providing tooth brushes, toothpaste and advice to children in local primary schools and have undertaken several outreach events to promote improved oral health.
Patient Forum March 2013
We recently completed our first Patient Forum to get feedback, opinions and ideas from our patients. The event was a great success and we gained really useful insights into what our patients want to see.
If you would like to be involved in our next patient forum please contact reception.
